This policy explains what personal information RenovationPlanltd collects when you enquire about work, book a job or use this website, why we hold it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have under UK data protection law.
RenovationPlanltd is a building and renovation company run by Gabriel Stano, based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire CM23, working across Hertfordshire and Essex. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy — that means we decide what is collected and what it is used for.
We handle personal data in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
We only ask for what we need to price and carry out building work. In practice that is:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Identity & contact | Your name, phone number, email address, WhatsApp number |
| Property details | Address or postcode of the property, access arrangements, parking notes |
| Job details | What you want done, room sizes and measurements, timescales, budget indication, materials already bought, survey and site-visit notes |
| Photos & media | Photos or videos you send us of the space, and before/during/after photos we take of the work |
| Correspondence | Calls, WhatsApp and SMS messages, emails, quote-form submissions and any notes taken from them |
| Financial & records | Quotes, invoices, payment references and bank transfer details, deposit and stage-payment records |
| Technical | IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and referring site, where analytics are in use |
We do not ask for special category data (health, ethnicity, beliefs and similar). If you volunteer something of that nature — for example an access or mobility need that affects how we work in your home — we only use it to carry out the job safely and appropriately.
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry and preparing a quote | Steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract |
| Carrying out the work, ordering materials, arranging access and scheduling | Performance of our contract with you |
| Invoicing, taking payment and chasing unpaid balances | Contract, and our legitimate interests in being paid |
| Keeping accounting and tax records | Legal obligation (HMRC record-keeping) |
| Health and safety, insurance and dealing with claims or disputes | Legal obligation, and legitimate interests in defending claims |
| Keeping job records so we can honour guarantees and handle callbacks | Legitimate interests in supporting completed work |
| Using photographs of completed work in our portfolio, website or Instagram | Consent — we ask first, and we do not publish your name or address with the photos |
| Asking you to leave a review, or occasional marketing messages | Consent, or legitimate interests where you are an existing customer (you can opt out any time) |
| Website analytics and improving the site | Consent for non-essential cookies; legitimate interests for essential operation |
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling, and we never sell your personal data.
| Record | Retention |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that never became a job | Up to 12 months, then deleted |
| Quotes, job notes and correspondence for completed work | 6 years from completion (limitation period for contract claims) |
| Invoices and accounting records | 6 years plus the current financial year (HMRC requirement) |

This website is deliberately light. We use:
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and most browsers let you refuse third-party cookies by default. Doing so will not stop you using this website or contacting us.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email renovationplan.ltd@gmail.com or call 07578 797937. We respond within one month and there is no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity before releasing information.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first — most things are sorted out with a phone call. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator:

Job records, quotes and photos are held in password-protected accounts and devices with screen locks and up-to-date software. Access is limited to Gabriel Stano and, where a job requires it, the specific trade working on it. Paper notes and printed quotes are stored securely and destroyed when no longer needed. No system is perfect — if a breach ever occurred that risked your rights, we would tell you and the ICO as required.
Our services are aimed at homeowners, landlords and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data about children. If a child's details reach us incidentally — for example in a photo of a room — we remove them on request.
This website links to Checkatrade, MyBuilder, Trustpilot, Instagram and WhatsApp. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites; please read their own privacy policies before submitting information to them.
We review this policy whenever our working practices or tools change. The current version is always published here with the date it was last updated: 22 August 2026. Material changes affecting existing customers will be notified by email where we hold an address for you.
