Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information RenovationPlanltd collects when you enquire about work, book a job or use this website, why we hold it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have under UK data protection law.

Last updated 22 August 2026 · Data controller: RenovationPlanltd, Gabriel Stano · renovationplan.ltd@gmail.com

1. Who we are

RenovationPlanltd is a building and renovation company run by Gabriel Stano, based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire CM23, working across Hertfordshire and Essex. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy — that means we decide what is collected and what it is used for.

We handle personal data in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

2. What data we collect

We only ask for what we need to price and carry out building work. In practice that is:

CategoryExamples
Identity & contactYour name, phone number, email address, WhatsApp number
Property detailsAddress or postcode of the property, access arrangements, parking notes
Job detailsWhat you want done, room sizes and measurements, timescales, budget indication, materials already bought, survey and site-visit notes

Financial & recordsQuotes, invoices, payment references and bank transfer details, deposit and stage-payment records
TechnicalIP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and referring site, where analytics are in use

We do not ask for special category data (health, ethnicity, beliefs and similar). If you volunteer something of that nature — for example an access or mobility need that affects how we work in your home — we only use it to carry out the job safely and appropriately.

3. How we collect it

  • Directly from you — by phone, WhatsApp, SMS, email, the quote form on this website, or in person at a site visit.
  • From review and lead platforms — where you contact us through Checkatrade, MyBuilder, Trustpilot or Instagram, those platforms pass your enquiry to us. Their own privacy policies apply to their handling of your data.
  • Automatically from this website — limited technical and analytics data, as set out in the cookies section below.
  • From third parties involved in your job — for example an architect, landlord, letting agent or main contractor who instructs us on your behalf.

Website analytics and improving the siteConsent for non-essential cookies; legitimate interests for essential operation

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling, and we never sell your personal data.

5. Who we share it with

We share the minimum needed, only with parties involved in delivering your job or running the business:

  • Suppliers and merchants — kitchen, bathroom, tile and timber suppliers, where a delivery has to reach your address.
  • Subcontractors and trusted trades — for example an electrician, gas engineer or scaffolder on your job. They are given your name, address and the job details only.
  • Our accountant and, where relevant, HMRC — for invoices, VAT and tax records.
  • Insurers and, if ever needed, legal advisers — in the event of a claim or dispute.
  • Service providers — email, phone and WhatsApp providers, website hosting and, where used, analytics and form-delivery services.
  • Review platforms — only where you have chosen to be invited to leave a review.

Some providers (for example email or messaging services) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to keep your data protected to UK standards.

6. How long we keep it

7. Cookies and analytics

This website is deliberately light. We use:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the site and, if you comment or log in, for WordPress sessions and security. These do not require your consent.
  • Analytics cookies — where enabled, used to count visits and see which pages are useful. These are only set with your consent and can be refused without losing access to any part of the site.
  • Third-party content — embedded fonts, maps or Instagram content may set their own cookies when loaded.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and most browsers let you refuse third-party cookies by default. Doing so will not stop you using this website or contacting us.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Be informed — which is what this policy is for.
  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — have inaccurate details corrected.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete data, where we are not legally required to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to pause using your data while a query is resolved.
  • Object — to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • Portability — receive data you gave us in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — for photos, marketing or analytics, at any time and without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email renovationplan.ltd@gmail.com or call 07578 797937. We respond within one month and there is no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity before releasing information.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first — most things are sorted out with a phone call. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF · Helpline 0303 123 1113 · ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint

10. How we keep your data secure

Job records, quotes and photos are held in password-protected accounts and devices with screen locks and up-to-date software. Access is limited to Gabriel Stano and, where a job requires it, the specific trade working on it. Paper notes and printed quotes are stored securely and destroyed when no longer needed. No system is perfect — if a breach ever occurred that risked your rights, we would tell you and the ICO as required.

11. Children

Our services are aimed at homeowners, landlords and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data about children. If a child's details reach us incidentally — for example in a photo of a room — we remove them on request.

13. Changes to this policy

We review this policy whenever our working practices or tools change. The current version is always published here with the date it was last updated: 22 August 2026. Material changes affecting existing customers will be notified by email where we hold an address for you.
